How Fucking Boring
"If God were to create a painting or write a book, would it truly be something so easily weaponized for malevolence?"
When I turned away from the religion of my youth, I quipped to my father, “They’re so cheap they can’t even afford to dye their clothes.” I was alluding to the prevalent use of white in their garments, walls, and tools during the faith’s most sacred ceremonies. We’re told it symbolizes purity. How fucking boring.
Why are angels depicted so unremarkably? Why are we conditioned to believe that simplicity equates to divinity? This idea of a stark black and white distinction captivates us. How fucking boring.
